Wolverine Knife Show and Reunion

Got my bags packed and the cows got moved to greener pastures. Tomorrow morning I leave for Michigan and arrive at Flint around 11pm. Sounds like a fun day of traveling and sitting at airports but the payoff will be seeing my friend Gil when he picks me up at the airport. The last time we saw each other was 39 years ago in Vietnam. When I left the field I was taken to the 4th Med Hospital with a 105 temp and suspected malaria. Anyway this is a long time coming. I just called Gil and he said the knives arrived there today so that's a relief. I'm looking forward to doing this show. If you happen to be at the show please come by and say hi.
 
I usually make this show, Ray. Just not this year.

I know you're going to have a great time with your friend. I'm sure you shared some special times back in the day.
It's gonna be a great reunion, and one that you will remember.
Never know how much time we've got in this life, so I hope you guys make plans to see each other more often after this.

Dave, I'll protect you. :D Looking forward to finally meeting you. I need to go fix my hair. I've got an appointment at the airport.
 
Ooops, sorry Karl, you already spotted that. I should have read the whole thread before I asked about Ray's head.

Ray I'll bring some Ren wax, we'll have you gleaming in no time. :D
 
You guys better watch it. Remember Ray's got a sword now. YOU might not end up with any hair!

To let you know I'm 36, 6'2" slim build with enough brown hair for 3 people. I also wear a mostache and black fedora.

Yeah Phil I wonder whether Ray still has that sword. I hope so. I'm really looking forward to getting to handle all his knives. It'll probably change the way I see some things forever.

I get to hit the road at 5:00 tomorrow morning; can't wait! I've been looking forward to the drive too, just getting some windshield time in is going to be a vacation for me.

Del, looking forward to meeting you. Several other forumites have come by, which has been a supreme pleasure. Thanks guys. Also, Ray met a fine maker who has been lurking because he claims not to have anything of value to add to this forum. MM, I saw your work; jump right in. Please. I at least have plenty to learn from you.

So many incredible knives and makers here it's an absolute trip. Sure glad I made it. One more day. I sure love this job! :D
 
I was pretty impressed by the show! alot better than it was 3 years ago for sure.
Dave, was great meeting you..hope you had a great show.

Hw did the rest of you guys do? I know the economy here in MI is in the crapper, but a saw alot of over priced production knives- and alot of value priced customs.
