Wolverine Knife Show and Reunion

Just saw this thread. Ray I hope you had a great time at the show and your get together with your friend went well. Take care.

I had a great time, and had a good it of business on Saturday. Sunday was slow but I sill was not able to visit every table, and meet all the makers there.

I was set up next to Del Ealy and I always have a great time visiting with him. For that matter, I always have a great time visiting with everyone in the knife making industry in general.

It was great to meet a number of forumites (funny that a few of them live fairly close to me, but I had to drive an hour away to Novi to meet up-eh Sean and Mike?:))

Thanks to everyone that took the time to speak with me and those who chose to spend some of their money on my product.

I find it very rewarding to see my product on someone elses work.

Ray, I know I did not make a proper introduction with you but I did hover and eavesdrop on some of your conversations.

Dave, thanks for the kind words. I will say that you make a very clean well thought out knife. As far as Ray's knives they look even better in "real" life than in pictures. I meant to get back over to your tables but everytime I started that way a customer would call or I would get side tracked by something. It was my 3rd show there and I think attendance was down a bit.

Sean it was great meeting you too. Your work is fantastic! I immediately wished I'd taken a picture of you and your knife. Too bad for me.

I also got to meet Mike Morris, Mike Cantrell and Del Ealy. What a treat this show was. Those Michigan folks make some really nice knives! And sure know how to show true hospitality. Thanks to all.

Mike, glad to see you post! That just made my day. I hope you share some of your beautiful work for our collective inspiration some time.

Mike, About time you came out of the Lurker Closet and posted something. It was good meeting you. I've known Dare Larsen for several years through the forums and finally got to meet him in person. I did have a good time in Michigan but I was real surprised how flat it was. Heck I have mole mounds out in my pasture that would be called mountains in Michigan. :D My flight went real smooth until I landed in Chicago. I actually boarded the plane on time. We got about halfway through the seat belt message and the pilot came on and told us we had mechanical problems and asked us to leave the plane. It was another 3 hours till we got to try it again. Gil must have been waiting in Flint for me for 7 hours. Guess he just didn't want to miss me. Our reunion was better than I had thought it would be. Hopefully Gil will be heading to the northwest for a get together in the not to distant future. I also got to meet several from the forums at the show.

Got a few pictures to share. The first one is from the show during a break in the action. Dave Larsen on the left, Gil standing behind me on the right. The fellow in the orange shirt is a friend of Don Cowles, I can't remember what his name was.

Here's a picture of Gil and I just before we left for the airport. Gil gave me the shirt. Now I'm an official Vet.

The last picture is for Karl Anderson. I wanted to moon him but we decided to do it with our bald heads instead.

I think Karl's duly mooned. :D The guy in the yellow shirt is Charlie Tice. He's a good guy too. I don't think I met anyone in Michigan I didn't like, actually. That was a good time! Thanks for getting me there Ray.

Ray it was cool to meet you also and I hope you had better flights going home than you had coming east! It is pretty flat here compared to your country, that is why we drive so fast, good long straight aways. Someday I will have to get out to the Oregon show.

You and Gil havent changed abit. Except the hair, waistlines, teeth and glasses.
I'm happy you two had a good reunion. Looks like a big show.
