Justin King sees what I see. The grain does appear to be similar to Wenge but with orange and yellow instead of black and brown.
I remembered a local hardwood dealer had some lumber like that and after a bit of poking around, I think I may have found it:

Take a look at the grain in the bottom right of this pic. It looks similar to me anyway (just less figured) with the alternating dark and light grain.
