Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Arizonaranchman, I agree the 77 SF in Ebony feels just so perfect in the hand and as an EDC it just can't get much better! Also makes a nice "worry stone" --like a well used bar of soap.

Yes, it's the smoothest and most comfortable pocket knife in hand that I've ever had I believe. Worry stone? Oh yes it's used for that quite often - fondling while watching TV, etc.

Old faithful there Jack:thumbup: do you collect old bottle/can openers as well? I do, and we refer to them as "Church keys";)

Also great article/post about the Barlow history in the Barlow thread:thumbup:

Yes indeed Paul! :D I have a few old church-keys, but usually end up passing them on. I happened to fall on a collection the other day, and bought more than a dozen. You'll probably find a couple of them included in your next 'care package' my friend! :D

Thanks Paul, glad you found it of interest :)

What a spectacular testimony to the durability of Ebony scales! What an awesome knife

Most definitely

Was hoping to post my new Pala Santo TC Charlow this week, however, old Charlow fox got out-foxed by the masses of Charlow hunters on this run.

I need to change my tactics!!! It is going to get ROUGH next time! :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::D

Where is the "crying emotion icon" when one needs it ?:confused::o

My old John Primble ISW Hawkbill will have to do. Better keep your fingers out of the way when the big "Hawk" slams shut !!:D

Every day for a month now since it's arrival!

A few seconds on a strop and it's razor sharp. I love the Sheepfoot blade and it's ease in sharpening.

I just received my TC in Palo Santo and am blown away with this wood. Pictures just can't capture how the color/grain moves but the first pic here shows what simply changing the light (rotating the knife) 180 degrees does to the appearance. It's like looking at those 3-D baseball cards I used to get as a kid. The second pic better shows the color of the wood on my example, which looks less orange in person. All I can say is WOW and feel lucky I was able to get a chance to own one of these.

Beautiful Robin !!! :eek::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

Thanks Rob, It's very beautiful Curly. I bought a piece from a local axe handle maker who has a stash with the intent of making a gunstock war club. Then My Daughter decided she wanted 5 knives as giveaways. Have to buy more this summer.

Here's one I made in Black Walnut, also local wood.

Best regards

Robin

What better place to show off some truly historic wood than in this thread? Here are the three Old Cattaraugus Rosewood Barlows for your viewing pleasure:
