Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

A little wood to reconnect with nature on a hump day spent indoors. This fish is sitting right in front of me in easy reach on my desk. :D

Pile side impresses too:thumbup:

Thank you Ron. I'd like to get hold of an example of jigged wood, wonder if GEC did any 48 single-blades in it? That Beaver shield is excellent too:D

Very nice Bocote Will!!

As for a jigged wood #48, yes, yes they have.

There is a wharncliffe trapper version too...

Good looking knife. I have one Maserin, a stubby little lock-back that was given to me as a gift, but I didn't know they made anything like that. Doesn't look like the most functional cap lifter, but still, I like it.

Thank you! It's an odd shape in the sense that as it tapers away from the pivot it also gets wider. I'm guessing it's to thicken the covers to accommodate the corkscrew on the back that pivots off the center pin. The Rostfrie blade has a little flex to it as well, so you have to pay attention and use light strokes during sharpening or you won't be able to keep a consistent angle on the bevel. Caplifter works well, but the screwdriver edges are not squared off.

I was late to the party when everyone had received their Radio knives and Crown Lifters when I stumbled on this and loved the looks of the rosewood, polished stainless, and nickel silver. As far as I can tell Maserin doesn't make this one anymore.

Man I love that Steingass, Primble! That just looks like the perfect EDC knife to me.

Here is something a little different, Cocobolo scales, carbon pruning blade, chrome over carbon shears. German, King brand, Made by Boengen and Sabin.

Happy Wednesday folks.

Best regards

Robin

Thank you Gary - I love it too ! It is the sexy curves that make it special, IMO. I took some new pics this morning to illustrate it better. Tim called it a Honduran Rosewood with black liners Drop Point Hunter. :
