Always loved that story Ted.

Which knife is that John? I assume it's some type of friction folder?

It's a Marjacq. It has the locking ring like an Opinel, and is about the same size as an Opinel #8. It has the finest grain ebony that I own.

Wow. Not bad for a $15 knife.

That's my opinion, too.

And on another subject, when I was in the Philippines a few months ago I got some large kamagong serving spoons and spatulas strictly for the wood. I found some with nice grain. Now to find the appropriate knife to rehandle, or perhaps commission a custom fixed blade with kamagong handle. I'll probably do the same thing when I go back to the PI next January.

You must really love it there. The last time I went was after I graduated school. My mom's frustrated she can't convince me to go...lol.

Rooboy123 nice shot!!! Those Forest Jacks do look fantastic in Cocobolo! I'd love to see them made with a spearpoint someday.

Cheers mate. I can't remember the name of the little succulent that puts out those flowers, but thought it would take a cool pic. Yeah I love the cocobolo on that forest jack

For simple elegance, nothing beats ebony. The lack of most embellishment on the Tidioute series just enhances the contrast between the metal and the wood. Like my 99 and others this 25 is an example of less is more (except for the bolster).

^ I'm gonna need to find one of those short stubby 25s at some point. They look like tiny little tanks; compact but tough. I like!

I'm still carrying the long & lean wooden Weasel.

Here's one that was assembled just in time for Wooden Wednesday from Keen Kutter parts, bocote covers and the invaluable help of my generous friend, Markesharp. Thanks Mark!!!
