Both of these are stunning. I'd love to see GEC make some new knives with these covers.

Yup, che chen rosewood. The only 92 I've had. Took a while to hunt one down.

Thanks, Jeff. My intent was to simply reshape the handle into something symmetrical and cigar-shaped, but by the time I knocked off the "flare" at the butt of the handle, I discovered I'd also be trying a blade mod.

Once I colored the steel that had to be removed, it was just a lot of filework.

That red color makes it look like you grabbed the handle to stab yourself far enough to get the measurement for how much blade needed to be removed.

I appreciate your concern for others, 315 , but my position is I'd hardly post at all if I could only show what others were interested in seeing! I think The Porch is a place where you can let people know what YOU like, and they're OK with that (and even WANT to see it, as amazing as that sounds)!!
