Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Todd, I saw that wood Böker canoe in the Totin' Today thread and it really made me sit up and pay attention; congrats on a compelling canoe!:thumbsup::cool: Is that an old Beer Barrel model or one of the more recent wood versions (Castleburg or something)?

Thanks Gary. It’s one of the old beer barrel models. In fact I went looking for it after seeing the one you posted a week or so ago. Didn’t know if there would be any still around, but I found one. It’s such a solid knife and I love the look of the wood Boker uses.

That's very cool, Todd!:cool::cool: You're building quite an impressive Böker brigade!:thumbsup: 🤓
Glad you could locate a beer barrel canoe. I've been looking around, on and off, for quite a while for a beer barrel whittler to get as a memorial for a Dutch BF friend who died far too young and used to often carry a beautiful Böker beer barrel whittler. But I haven't had any luck so far (my underdeveloped Google skills may also be a contributing factor ).

Thanks Gary, I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for a BBW. 😉👍

Impressive pile of wood Gary. 😎👍
Love that knife James, it’s so classy. I have one but I just can’t bring myself to get it dirty…yet. 😊👍

Thanks Todd. Classy like stainless steel wearing a Tuxedo and bow tie!
I'm the same way with mine. I use a blue bone sowbelly fairly often so, as difficult as it is, I'm trying to keep the ebony clean. So far so good. ;) Have a good day my friend. :)

Thanks, Todd. :)

You are packing some grainy goodness Gary !
Thanks for the compliment, Steve. :)

That's a pretty Canoe, GT.
That shield looks really good on there.
Thanks, John. :) I really like its looks, too, with the wood, shield, satin-finish bolsters. A guy at a gun&knife show once had a table full of them in clamshell packages with the tops cut off so you could pull out each knife and look at the pile side. I probably spent 20 minutes there looking at a couple dozen canoes like that, trying to decide which one I liked most.

Exemplary ebony on your knife and on redsparrow redsparrow 's knife, too!:cool::thumbsup:

As ya guys know I'll use a spacer a lot. Sometimes there's a practical reason. Like having a little bit more of some cool handle material but....its just not quite long enough to fit. Stick in an ironwood spacer and you are good to go:
