At first glance, it appears to be boxwood, which is typically a very pale wood with little to no figure, frequently used on French knives. Love the pin construction of your knife!

Right you are and thanks Testament to GEC's inletting prowess, no mean feat putting a leaf into wood that has a barrel type surface. The Pile side isn't too disgusting either
