The wood is Sapeli/Sapele. Very nice in the hand and durable. It also looks much better in person than in pictures as the chatoyance is not usually seen in photos.Thank you, have to agreeIt's well finished and this one has all stainless construction so it's not afraid of the wet - what Otter is ? You can get them with a carbon blade too if you wish, the wood's name I cannot recall but it's some type of African Mahogany, smooth in the hand and tough.

Never seen a rope knife with a lock, a working knife indeed.Toledo Australia - I think they were used here as linesman knives. Nice wood and brass rivets.
