Thanks Harvey. My thinking goes like this. I usually intentionally underexpose by 1/3 to 1/2 stop and then expose for the highlights that darkens and saturates the wooden covers. On the Mam I didn’t underexpose and then exposed centrally which gave a more neutral look. That way I got two different looks to the knives and the background.
 
Y'all are killing me with those hawkbills/pruners...
Never had one, never experienced one

But it's got me curious
When I think of hawkbill knives I always had the old Klein tools buggers in my head. We had them around when I was a kid. They're just fine, don't get me wrong... But this old fella is a well built, really neat knife and I sure wouldn't hesitate to find him some similar friends.
