Chui Chui Just purchased a collection here in SA with about 14 of Willie's knives. Man, the guy was an artist. Also 8 of the pens he made.
Now to work out what I can keep and what I need to part with. Going to be a mission. Love his work, and he was so versatile in his styles. You name the folder style, he would make it. Miss him a lot in the SA knifemaking scene.

- ja, man........and a lion-hearted artist at that.
Had got to know Willie and a few of the PE boys on my trips over (was born brought up in Kenya, before Covid used to go to SA almost yearly).
A lovely, lovely man. He had a tough time with health and pulled through double amputation, then slowed down to pens only before he was snatched from us.
Have a few of his, here's some: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...l-picture-show.1023176/page-478#post-21051936
Please post yours sometime.

Very cool! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
I really like the way the pile side wood appears to be "naturally crosshatched"! 😲
Did Case inform you what type of wood (e.g., oak or walnut or white pine) was used for your handle, or did they just call all of it "antique river logs" without trying to identify individual species?

The only timber-clad knife for me this week is a Böker Beer Barrel canoe (thanks, Todd):
