Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

That's one awesome-looking Marantz! It looks quite a bit more mint than my 2252. Mine got a full restoration about 10 years ago, and it's going in for a cleaning this month. Has yours needed any servicing?
Sweet Buck, too.

Thanks. It was restored back in 2015, there are a few rotary switches that are starting to pop when switched, so it's likely to need some cleaning/ service next year.

An Opinel No.6 modified more than I originally intended:

The only arboraceous knife my rotation schedule assigned me this week is Union Jack, a rosewood lambsfoot my wife and daughter bought me in a York hardware store when they visited the UK in 2017.

They chose a knife with outstanding scales.

For me today, a Friedrich Hartkopf that I inherited from my father. He carried it a lot.

I agree - thanks! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
I named the knife Union Jack because of the distinctive striping on the wood - parallel to the handle on one side and diagonal on the other. That reminded me of the directions of stripes on the British flag called the Union Jack.

Wonderful heritage Hartkopf from your father! :cool::thumbsup::cool: The pattern reminds me of a toothpick pattern, which is one of my favorites.

Seeing that 38 (?) next to an HHB, I was quite surprised! The GEC isn't nearly as big as I'd always thought it was, just from looking at pictures in isolation. 😲 Sweet pair!
