I like that Case did that. I am surprised that they don't mention the type of wood. My first thought before reading the certificate was American Chestnut. Being a river log, I'm not too sure. It still looks like chestnut to me, or maybe oak. Any idea?

Thank you. It's very good, comfortable to hold, the blade is (almost) the right size, and the wood is fantastic. It takes on different colors depending on the ambient light. It was a nice discovery, this elder wood that Cosimo recommended to me.That looks like a splendid knife!
