Another beauty SH. Is this the same maker as the forged necker? I think its the best interpretation of the Kepahrt pattern I've seen

Thanks, Scruff. It's the same maker - Lon Humphrey. That knife feels great in the hand, and it's built to be a workhorse.

This is quarter sawn figured maple, the blocks had burl too

In general, how do you find that modernish wood knives hold up to pocket carry with keys, coins etc?

Very !!

That barrel knife is the coolest thing I've seen in a while! Good score, Scruff!

Thanks gents. I was stoked when I found it. It's such a smart design.

Wish I could carry it more.....I should carry it more!

I swapped to my newly acquired Montsegur Rustique knife in Juniper by French knifemaker Jean-Paul Tisseyre based upon the classic Pyrenean 'Capucin' knives.

Colour a bit better here (sorry, fading light):

Very nice! Does that one have the little internal spring affixed to the blade tang, making it behave as though it has a half-stop?

Nope, this is old school. I wanted it to be a traditional friction style.

BUT I love the unique design of that sprung mechanism, so the next one shall be! ;)
