Woods Combo?

Thanks for the replies. I had many years of pack-packing and camping but since I scrambled my foot bones about a year ago, my days of long walks are probably over. I carry a bow saw in the toolbox of the jeep and usually my Estwing hatchet. We have a couple of horses but sometimes thats more work than walking.:D

Wabajack, having a little "redundancy" is a good thing in a lot of the places I've traveled! Never considered it a negative. If you're talking little or no weight, why not? And before I'm attacked by the "lightweight" crowd, I spent most of my military career in Special Operations, and have been working in "interesting" places most of the time since then...I know all about not taking more weight than you need! Many days and weeks in desert, mountains and jungles taught me that. I can see great uses for having the Mora and the Vic Farmer, along with another slicer and chopper.

Pretty sweet knife! I should also probably pick up a Mora or two, cheap as they are. Your laminated one is pretty nice for such a cheap knife. I was impressed by how sharp it got on the Sharpmaker. It took awhile, but no one would be disappointed with how it cuts now.

Got two more new Mora's today. A 640 and a 612. I see that Smokey Mnt has some Mora blade blanks now also. Rat tail tangs.

A Victorinox One Hand Trekker would fill the role of the Mora and the SAK.
I'm a huge fan of the OHT.

Nearly pulled the trigger on the larger Hossom, still may once I pay off Santa.
That handle design keeps calling my name.

I like the Trekker also. The saw does a great job. Just wish that the blade wasn't serrated...

I think Swiss Bianco has solved that problem.
I like the feature as it makes swift work of a bagel, orange or tomato and you can still point up a stick or sharpen a pencil with the unserrated portion.
IF I could change one thing on it, I'd like the saw to lock.

I converted my oldest OHT to a scraper for work, ground the tip flat then bevelled it, ground off the serrations.

I'd swap the Mora for a small axe .
You don't need the Mora when you have a great slicer like that Woodlander so add a little axe and you have all bases covered !!!

My choice would be swapping the mora for a folding saw... easier to use with one hand in the even of getting hurt, less chances of getting hurt qhile using it and you can cut notches in wood easier and more precisely sawing than chopping. The saw is going to be probably ligther and you can always chop with the Spyderco knife (I guess...).

I am with the redundancy good crowd, that mors is so light, have it be a dedicated food prep blade, less germs to worry about and such. I would even toss in a leatherman squirt for the handy little pliers, an opinel saw, and any other toys you want to play with. ;) this is a knife forum after all, may as well get some use out of them.

About the OHT, I am beginning to thing the hunter is the ultimate sak, I like serrations but not on my main blade. The hunter has a mini version of the belt cutter from the OH fireman instead of the bottle opener.
