Woods Trio or Combo?

Nice combo. That Boker fixed blade looks cool.
Thanks! Glad you like it!

What kind of axe it that? Is it a Cegga? Or a custom?

Specs please.......;)

Length, weight, material, or whatever you know. It's has a very convexed bit. I like it......

Looks around 20-25" long. The haft is nice and wide as well. Looks like a well made/thought out axe to me.

Actually, it's a special axe I bought at my local hardware store. It's from the company "Lux", which presents all kinds of tools, some foreign but many are made in Germany. So is this big hatchet/small axe (I think axes start at 0.5m).
I'm not experienced with axes, but I bought this "Lux Tomahawk" (it's just a name, it's not meant to be a hawk) when it came out, because I liked the design immediately when I saw it. What can I say? It works great! Throwing works great, too.
The wood is hickory and the steel is some sort of carbon steel, I don't know exactly which one, but I think german axes all use the same or a similar carbon steel, like Oxhead (="Ochsenkopf"). German bushcrafters and toolmakers take their jobs very seriously, so I assume they know what they're doing. ;)

The specs:
Name: Lux Tomahawk
Length: ~47cm
Weight: 0.9kg
Wood: hickory
Steel: Carbon steel
Price: I payed 26€

The only thing "custom" about it, is that I treated the wood with sandpaper, to get rid of the lacquer and the black paint. IMHO it looks and feels better this way.

Here is a picture, how it looked originally:

Bigger version: Lux Tomahawk 1.3kg

nice machete.
I also have one from brazil, it's at least 50 years old. sure needs a lot of reconditioning.

still in great condition asides from a couple dinks here and there and some corrosion. great machetes all around.

Say Heah Guys and Gals, I started out as a 3knife carry and sometimes because I had them to match a 4knife carry, Usually I took them in extended trips. But that's alot of knives, the advantage my edge would last longer if you know what I mean, Then came the Saw and the Axe. I still like a large/small knife combo, Fir that reason I like a choil, To me it's like having two knives in one (per knife). I never ran out of blade lenght especially the way my Swamp Rat are designed.

I really enjoy a "Afternoon Delight" A hot cup of coffee on the open fire and a baked potato, Beats Mc Dee's hands down and I get to practice fire making in different type of weather and I can look for fatwood as I check out nature.

Fir that as simple as it sounds and it is. I got a Trio. I wanted ?Lite" something I can carry in a Haversack and maybe one of them as a neck knife carry. I recently found a deal on a Combo Kit, It's the Mora 2000 and the Mora Hatchet the good price is for the Orange color, but I got the Green and a Bacho Laplander which also is available in the Orange. It's a very lite combo/trio and they match in color. I also added my Victorninox Delemont Collection Ranger Grip 78 which the pouch matches the color scheme. And it's not bad to spend a Afternoon Delight with in the woods.

Yeah, Even when I try going with a one tool option, I still find myself wishing for a small knife, I guess some habits are hard to break. For protection of the Conflict Man against Nature. I usually will carry a sufficient belt knife like one of my 5"-6" blades like my Bokor Plus Black Vox Rold for example and even the handle matches the colors.

I carry the belt knife , but I use my Trio to do all of my work, firewood processing with the hatchet and saw and food prep with the smaller knife and so lite stuff around the makeshift shelter which usually is a Blue Tarp. I try carrying the 5C's which all fit nicely in my Haversack. Yeah, I can really enjoy myself on the cheap. Winter camping the heavy stuff comes out and so does the expence. I like this time of the year.

Just to go out and enjoy, you don't have to get too eleberate, In either case a Trio or a Combo works great.
