This is the signup thread for the first run of Woodsmen for the new year. I'll be doing NINE spots in this run. The knives will be handled with Goncalo Alves and Osage Orange. Just like the passaround knife. The steel is going to be 01, 5/32" thick. The knife is 10.5" long, and the handle is 5" long.

The knife will cost $200 shipped. The sheath will cost extra, and be made by JRE. I don't take money up front. I expect you to sign up only if you're serious, but I will understand if you need to back out later because of family priorities. The next run will commence when this one is done. So far I've got the woods cut and glued up. I've got to glue up liners for them. I am going to use black liners. I've got the steel, and I've got it marked and ready for profiling. I'll post progress pics as I get them.

Arrrrgh! I was hoping I'd get to handle the pass-around before this happened! Maybe I should wait until the next round! :(

I can't say. I have a goal to make ten knives a month this year, but whether thats achievable or not with work and family is questionable.
 
I don't know - the one on the top of the top picture - the handle looks a little - chunky... unfinished maybe. ;)

The next round is very likely to be cocobolo. Then maybe a micarta round.
 
I'd like to commit to this one, but I'll have to see how things turn out in the next couple weeks. Cocobolo would be really pretty too, I might wait and get one of those once things settle a bit. I'm really interested in a Micarta handle too.
