Word association and knives

Wayne - Not only is KABAR a brand name but also describes a style of knife, the USMC Marine Combat knife. Kind of like we all refer to facial tissues as "Kleenex" and any soda is "Coke", the word KABAR is both a brand and a pattern of knife, both of them associated with the Marines. That's how I came up with that association

Paracelsus,
Barlow = people from the ozarks.
I was born and raised here in the ozarks. I carry a sebenza daily. I guess that makes me a fancy utilitarian Eutopian Idealist ? Gotta go to the outhouse now...wheres those corn cobs....

Brian, sounds about right to me...

Where do you think Those people come from anyway, California?

IIRC == If I Recall Correctly

1. Didn't BM say that they never recieved your correspondence? Amazing as it might seem, email is not perfect. Especially on transmission over the high-bandwidth international backbones. Since they specifically ask that people call them with any problems, this is not a legitimate complaint.

Let's see, you were banned for posting something on October 8, but were somehow able to post on November 24.... That doesn't make any sense to me or, I think, to anyone else....

Have you ever called BM? Try it. Ask for Travis. See what he says.

4. You were treated extremely well, even according to the links you posted. You were abusive, and they answered politely. They repaired your knife, even though you had violated the warranty. Even though it most likely was a used knife, by the looks of things.

Again, you seem to be the only one who has to examine them closely to. I picked my 705 up randomly from a shipment of knives that a dealer had. The blade centering was off by a couple thousandths of an inch - I doubt most people could even see it, except I've worked in a machine shop, so I got used to seeing details that small. Yet it seems like you have just as far off-center by what? And inch or two?

Again, I've seen no evidence of you being ignored. The company treated you far more than right - they went out of their way to fix a knife which they were under abolutely no obligation to fix.

BM does not just going around banning people. I have repeatedly made the statement that their BT2 coating comes off if you so much as look at it wrong. Haven't been banned, yet....

------

General, adults do not consider attempts to harm the reputation of a respected member of the knife community 'a little fun.' Let alone the repeated and malicious attempts which you have engaged in.

You dislike how you were treated, even though they treated you better than they should have? They should have just told you to go away, and saved themselves the trouble of fixing your knife, only to be flamed for doing so. Instead, they did fix your knife, and I would guess they paid part or all of the shipping, didn't they?

2. I thought you just said how horrible their service was?
3. That's not what you've been saying, here, and saying that all AFCK's have wobble is not honest, and you were clearly not banned right after that, were you?
4. No, you will lie to a person and not tell them how BM took care of you, even though they didn't have to, in any way, whatsoever.
5. My first 'quality' knife was a Benchmade. I have yet to see this poor QC you complain about.

Ok, so I said I would not post any more on this, but I need to correct a couple of things that I may have been mistaken with.

1. Yes I was wrong, I was banned a fair bit later, I was going off memory. But if you look at my posts, then that is the only reason why they would ban me, especially confusing when I thanked them.
2. How can I call BM? From the UK in the middle of the night? OK...
3. BM offered to pay the WHOLE postal, I paid my half. I was happy they fixed the problem, although the problem aught not to have been there in the first place. I accept that they did not get my e-mails at first, but after several tries in the last three months? The issue over disasembly, CRK are adult enough to accept that a Knifeknut CAN and in fact AUGHT to take a blade appart to clean and look after it. I DID NOT **** THIS KNIFE UP!
4. The blade was NOT second hand and was faulty. I think you will find I am not the only one who has found these problems with the AFCK series. Do you honestly think I cannot tell the difference between a new and even slightly used blade?

Allow me to be very clear now.

I have e-mailed BM SEVEN times since I was banned. I first found out I was banned when I recieved the message that says you do not have the right to post... blah blah blah. So I e-mailed them asking what it meant. I got a reply saying that my posting rights had been removed (paraphrasing here as I am using a different system in Uni and do not have the e-mail to hand)

Back to the issue at hand, they have not replied ONCE and yes I have tried different e-mail accounts to get a reply. Am I bothered that I cannot post to the Benchmade Forum any more? Not really. I am more concerned about the distinct lack of communication from them. If I have a problem in future in warrenty will they ignore me then? I suppose I have NO RIGHT to expect an answer from BM on this, the forum is a service after all.

The service I got from the SERVICE aspect of BM was FIRST CLASS, however if you really think just because you have not come across any of the problems I have had don't think to preach on this. I notice you are VERY involved with BM. Not as an worker, but as a FAN. Nothingh wrong with that but you are biased as much as anyone on this issue. I cannot help but feel that you have been eager to attack me on this issue for a long time.

My main complaint is the lack of communication and the low QC I have experienced. Lets forget the other issues in this post.

I ask anyone here, who has had a problem with an AFCK to step up and explain how I am not the only idiot to have problems here. Anyone? I suppose a level of bitterness has clouded my judgement to a degree.

Or try these posts?

"At least now the blade is centered between the liners, and doesn't scrape the opposite liner when opening, unlike the last dozen AFCK's I've handled. But for goodness sake, I do expect any knife I buy to be able to cut something more than butter when it comes out of the box." LOL!!!

That is enough for now, the list could go on a long time.

One thing that becomes clear, people ARE having the same trouble as me and a significant number are NOT. This tells me the blades are not supposed to be bad thus BAD QC.

THIS is my FAVORITE ONE THOUGH. CALL ME A BASTID NOW? PITY IT STARTED TO SHOW THE AFCK "PROBLEMS" I still think it is a fair blade (for M2 alone)

http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum64/HTML/002804.html

Now I am being serious, I will discus this in private in future. In hindsight I have been a little over anti BM, but I think I have made some very valid points here.
