Ok, so I always have at least two knives on me, but yesterday I had my knew Izula and RC-3 and wore them but to work.

First, very concealable and comfortable, barely knew they were there the entire night. That was very nice.

Second, I wasn't sure if I would like the Izula. Looking at pictures and stuff without holding it I thought it may be very similar to my Becker Necker. Boy was I wrong. No offence to Becker, but the Izula feels so much better in my hand, and just looks so much nicer.

Third, one of the guys who knows I collect knives came over to show me his new SOG, while he was showing me I pulled out both the RC3 and the Izula and showed him. His responce was "Damn, I need to get one of this company's knives!"

I think I found my two new favorites :)

Pretty cool that you can EDC the Izula, let alone the RC-3!! If I showed up with either blade on my hip, I would be job hunting this AM. Hell the owner here finally insisted that I do not have the Izula even in my EDC bag! :(

I carry a couple of folders, and when the Izula folder comes out, that will be one of them. :)

well, to be fair they weren't really showing, I work in a kitchen and they were both under my chefs coat.

I'mpretty much the crazy knife kid. I have gone in wearing a custom fixed blade thats about 10 or 11 inches long, I failed at completely hiding that one...

Hey Ratamahtta,

whats the little skull thingy on the Izula in your avatar and where can I get one? :)

it's a skull bead - use google-fu to check bead/jewelry supply catalogs like Fire Mountain.

It's a Oyatsuboor a emperor node on the outside/public side of the handle allows you to know which direction the blade is facing, even in compromised lighting conditions, by touch. sorry to answer for him and check Wilson tactical also.

Just curious, what sort of job would get you fired for taking a knife to work? I've been working full time various jobs for 25 years, and I can't think of a single employer that would have minded at all.

Most any retail job it's a huge no-no. Likely any large corporate company also, most are not willing to accept the "risk". Can't really blame them since they could never keep track of who's crazy and who isn't in their large employee base.

cool, thanks

My jobs have included:

  • Working on a dairy in So-Cal - feeding calves, milking cows, bucking hay, delivering calves, forking silage, shoveling (r@p with a Case front-end loader, etc. - Obviously, carrying a knife on this job wasn't a problem.
  • Hospital maintenance -- Roofing, hauling trash, flooring, construction, and anything else that needed done. - No carry problems here.
  • Programming for a software company in Cincinnati, Ohio - No carry problems here.
  • IT Specialist and System Administrator for a large organization in Arizona - No carry problems here.

I guess I'm just fortunate. :)

Most airlines, federal non Leo, courtroom, retail, office, etc knives are a big no no. Though in a kitchen full of them, I can see how it'd be hard to say you couldn't have them.

Wearing at 12 o'clock like that, I'd be way scared to draw

pretty much any government office, county, state, or fed -- unless you have a work related reason for having it.

it's not bad at 12 o'clock. couldnt even tell it was there, can reach undet my apron and pull it out no problem...now all i need is ESEE's to wear at 6 and 9 :)

Occupation - Engineer

At my job, they say that "Possesion of a weapon (i.e. gun, knife, explosives, etc.) on company property including in a vehicle or on themselves or in lockers" is a termination-worthy action.

Again, people considering tools as weapons...I carry two knives to work every day, either of which in my opinion, would be difficult to interpret as weapons, a Vic Supertinker and a CRKT Folding Razel. No one bats an eye at the multitool on my belt or a SAK, and the lack of a point eases even HR's mind when they see the Razel clip in my pocket.

I haven't worked up the nuts to carry my Griptilian or anything like that yet, but maybe after some more time on the job I will give it a try and see if I get any dirty looks.

I have an RC-3 in my truck, I think after the Weyerhauser law suit over the guns employees had in their vehicles, that they won't go searching employee vehicles any time soon.

I've had a couple where fixed blades would be an issue. I waited tables in my youth and a waiter with a fixed blade is a strange sight. Also, I worked at the State Capitol, and they only allow folders under 3 inches into it.

I EDC my Izula every day to work. I just don't let anyone see it. If I need to cut something at work I pull out my SAK. ;)
