Great looking piece.
Extremely creative and well executed.
We have some very talented young makers on this forum.

that's friggin awesome.
And Kevin, might I add, very few as talented as Chris.
What an imagination! And such attention to details.
Keep it up.

thanks guys!
and thanks for the encouragement... i think part of it is, if it is worth doing.. it is worth doing right. so that means attention to details.

this knife has been alot of fun cause i could let it be what it turned into.. you know?
i'll keep you posted..
thanks!

Absolutely Amazing! You said you'd never tried this style before?? I wish my first attempts were HALF this good :-)

thanks guys!

no i havebnt tired this style before, however it is very remenicent of other styles i HAVE tried... and i pulled in alot of japanese style into this one.

I got kinda sidetracked working on Christmas presents, so this one got set aside till i get done with those. I have pics of a folder i just finished up.

the sheath is almost done, i just have to do the final sanding, and then put the resin. then do the final clean-up/polish.

thanks for looking!

hey everybody!
sorry it has been so long in coming.. but i am one step away from the whole thing being finished... i need to give the blade a final rub-down and polish.
the sheath came out VERY curly looking and i cant begin to do it justice in a picture. it is like curly tiger maple. the sheath has been coated with the west systems epoxy and then waxed.

i am going to do some stippling on the sheath to match the handle, i just havent decided where yet. do you think that would be overkill?

That all came out just soooooo nice! Very impressive piece. And I think a bit of stippling on the sheath would be a further unifying element with the handle.

I agree with Roger:thumbup:

Unbelievable!! I am stunned. This has got to be the best WIP thread I have ever seen.
Amazing work! Truly I am stunned at your design and ability. I've seen your stuff on "the other site" but this is something else.

I agree on the stippling on the sheath but it doesn't need much.
