I think the new Elite version addresses a market segment, but the question for me is how long the consumables will last? Also waiting to see street price. Nice review btw.

I think that's a fair point. For a consumer like me, it works perfect for the occasional chip repair or sharpenening knives as a stress relieving activity.

I find that if I regularly strop my knives, this kit never needs to come out. Especially for steels like Elmax, M390, etc.

I avoid these systems now. Freehand is preferable to me.

Right on! The Precision Adjust is definitely targeted toward the home user not professionals. It's not a system I would use if were a knifemaker or a professional sharpener.

The Gritomatic 3D printed stone/strop holders for $19 definitely give much more versatility. With them you can use any 4 or 6 inch stone or strop. This opens up a whole different world of options.
