Any one here a World Cup Fan?
756-fifa-world-cup-2014-group-stages-draw.jpg

I've watched the whole thing start to finish kinda religiously since I was young. I've done the same as the summer Olympics but form where i come form the World Cup is kinda special :)

Anyway, I'm out here in Kentucky, which usually isn't great for football (soccer) news but since this is the first eon in our new home I didn't even think about the fact we don't have cable and finding it on the radio is ...well...good luck with that.

I caught about 15 minutes of the opening game yesterday when I stopped in at a restaurant and could just about see the corner of a screen in the kitchen with it on...so far haven't been able to see much of it is I guess what I'm saying :)

Anyway, updates and conversation here might make up for it, so is anyone out there watching? I'd appreciate some news :p

Missed all day yesterday because I was helping a buddy move. Should be an exciting tournament. Spain was upset by the Netherlands 5-1.

Sorry Bryan, no sympathy here :p wish I had the problem

thanks andy, I'll check it out

managed to get a glimpse of the second half defeat of England today :( it was in Spanish and divided into 4 screens 3 of which showed, to me, meaningless landscapes of the stadium :s

I enjoyed it all the same :)

You betcha Pete. The opening match with Brazil and Croatia was terrible. truly disappointing. now, the netherlands/spain was amazing, as someone said above. the orange looked real good. england and italy was interesting today, but i only got to watch a few minutes....watched the recap tonight.

looking forward to the US opener Monday. there is not much hope for the US squad, but i would at least like to see them beat Ghana. we'll see.

Germany looks amazing, US looked pretty good tonight too!! Looking forward to the Belgium match!

Yeah, Germany was great. Ghana dominated the US in the 2nd half. but, we capitalized on our one chance. i'll take it!

Thanks, Todd, haven't been able to see a glimpse of either of them, last time I saw Germany play though they were a force of teamwork, impressive

Germany is the one to watch for sure, they were a well oiled machine. KYenglish, you pay attention to premier league or anything, or just World Cup?

Happy Belgium was able to pull that one off! Watching Brazil v Mexico now. It's hard for me to watch soccer sometimes, I miss playing a lot, but my knees are trashed from playing and not really taking care of myself ;)

Brazil/Mexico was a damn good game. I try to watch as much as I can. Russia vs japan right now. Looks like a good game also.

Thank you sir.
I don't know what these guys are talking about but I'm betting any "athletes" involved have no need of a cup. World or otherwise.

I don't have enough internet right now to watch this but I bet it's funny, hopefully it'll help Myke and protouurist :)

BryanNomad, I know what you mean, it was a bad day when i realized I was no longer par of a team, and had no plans or reason to be playing anytime soon, came as a sudden realization and shock :( mostly it's a busy life and relocation to America that stopped it, but legs joints hurt on occasion to remind me it might be for the best anyhow :p

If they had athletes with knives strapped to their feet and carried sticks around a field of ice, it would be an interesting game. As it is, it's probably a great game for third graders but not for men.
:D
