Thinking about running down to the Co-op and picking up a Whisperlite International while they're on sale (ends today).
Always figured this would be a good stove for an emergency kit since it will burn just about anything that... well... burns.
I've got the dividend to cover it easily. I found it $10 cheaper online, but the Co-op service and guarantee is just damn hard to beat.

Great stove G. Time tested and proven tech. The XGK (I have one from 1986) may be a bit more bullet-proof, but it can't simmer for shit. Two temp levels - high and higher!

I've got the SimmerLite (now discontinued), but it's a white gas only stove.
I always figured that, in event of emergency, it would be good to have a stove that could burn unleaded or kerosene.

Getting the Whisperlite to simmer is a learning experience too. I light mine on five pumps (with priming paste) and just pump it enough to keep it burning.

Coleman is hard to beat.

I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled; and I make no doubt that it will equally serve in a fricassee or a ragout.

That sounds like a very modest proposal Guyon, perfectly reasonable.

I'm making chicken parmigiano for supper. Trying to decide breaded chicken or grilled chicken. I'm thinking (for sake of ease) I'm going to wrap a chicken breast in aluminum foil, then deep fry it.

Went up and saw the Mariners put a whoopin on the Padre's. stopped by Buffalo Wild Wings on the way home.
Life is good!

You'd be surprised just how good deep fried chicken is, even though it's been wrapped in foil when cooked.

Season it up, wrap it in foil then again in foil, then again in foil, then drop it into the hot oil. Cook like normal.

What's up guys? Hope y'all are having as good of an evening as I am. I'm just enjoying the breeze having a beer and checking out blade forums. What else can one ask for? Really?
And since that Pommel post, I've been using the BK-10 to open my beers instead of the BK-11. HaHa What else can I do with this thing?

Home made chicken parm, ended up doing the foil wrap. The green beans are topped with lemon pepper and garlic.
