Worldwoods dream RMD

LMAO, ill never be able to get all those :D I Do own a Vex though..

I think i may of asked before, but whats the mudder Rat?

Bod Dog. First edition in D2 was the first appearance on mudder handles that I know of. Mine is SR-101.

Took me just over 2 years to get them all...
Oh, and I forgot about Taz, it is a drop point too... of sorts.

It has landed, And she is my dream come true :D This bone is amazing! Give me a minute and ill have some pics!

LMAO sorry im slow, plus its hard to stop holding it long enough for a picture :)

Im uploading them right now

Sorry im no photographer and really these pictures SUCK, I cant do it justice with my camera and skills but even with my crappy photography skills you can see how AMAZING she is. This bone is so SWEET and I love how unique it is and full of character. The people at the shop really helped put this together exactly like i wanted. I couldnt be happier!!

Thanks Swamp Rat for an EPIC RMD.

Very nice! That's giraffe bone right? One of my favorite knives. I went with the black and tan theme though. The drop point is a nice touch.

Oh man...

When I first read about the drop point RMD idea, I was sold. However, even with some good mental images, I was far to figure how truly awesome this blade shape is.

It really need to become a Swamp regular offering.

Congrats WW. Use it in good health!!

Thanks man, and yes its giraffe bone :) and its FFG instead of saber, thinner than the standard RMD and the blade is slighly shorter as well! This thing would make an amazing slicer!

Yeah, looks like they cut the tip off of a standard RMD, tapered it down from the spine in a drop-point curve... Do you have a regular RMD for comparison? I really like the blade-shape, ESPECIALLY with the FFG :thumbup:

Honestly, I'm not a fan of polished handles or fancy pins, much prefer the micarta slabs and brass tubes, but that blade-shape and FFG is a thing of beauty! The cutting geometry should be superb :)

Yup thats pretty much what happened, the took a FFG RMD SE version and modded it to a drop. I do have a regular RMD, Ill take a comparison shot after dinner. I already got her locked in her display case now. But the tip is maybe half inch shorter, its not much.

I wish I had calipers. They really hooked this edge up really nice.

And for a user I wouldnt want these fancy handles and pins either, On users I prefer them coated, preferably tanker gray, and I prefer black canvas micarta on a user as well. But I had this one made as a display piece. I prefer drop points for most anything and the RMD being such a great knife and perfect ergos, I wanted to have the perfect one "to me" as a display only piece. No intentions on using this beauty... but the other 2 in the picture is a different story :D

Not nearly as classy or high-performance cutting as what you've got there! Congratulations on the finished piece! And the same to the Swamp Rat who made her!

Thats what im talking about there!! You have great taste and the edge on that thing looks SICK!! The picture almost cut me :) here is an old picture of my user, only ever been stropped, needs a little touch up and a thinner edge but i dont want to mess her up she is a good wood cutter and chops well for her size. I have a work sharp that i just got, but havent even used it yet and dont plan to test it out on one of my main users. Must practice with it a bit first. What did you use to sharpen yours? free hand / sandpaper? Looks great!
