I was just hiking in Descanso Gardens a couple weeks ago. Just think - I might have walked right by her!

How disturbing that this will be my first post to this forum...

Anyway, I'm not sure I can top some of the earlier tales of woe :eek: , but here goes...

My (then) girlfried went off to Law school in St. Louis, while I remained in Atlanta to finish my undergraduate degrees. We talked on the phone every day, and at one point she remarked that I sounded an awful like one of her friends from her property law class.

One evening I call her up, and she picks up after seven rings.

"Hello?" she says.

"Hey, it's me -- what shakin'?" I say.

"Oh, we're just getting out of the shower. We'll be there in 20 minutes, okay?" she replies. (empahsis mine)

"We?" says I.

"Oh my God!" <click>

That one hurt. Especially since she kept my stereo and good Henckels kitchen knives. :) Of course, I did end up getting 6 months worth of target practice out of the pile of art history books she left in my attic... ;)

In any event, as others have mentioned: thank God I've found a good one and am happily married now!
