Worst "modded" knives you've seen posted?

Can I just ask why??

+3 or 4 on Charlie Mikes BM630.It may not be the worst, but it sure is the ugliest!:barf::D

I think CM may "ugly up" the aesthetics of most of the pieces he mods, but most of them don't look any worse than a lot of stuff out there. They have some sort of undeniable charm, ya know? I always get a kick out of seeing them. :)

I can tell you from experience what a modder is thinking (at least what *I* am thinking).

When I mod a knife, I am thinking, "this SOB is mine and I like it, but I would like it better like this". Then I get out my tools and start "destroying" the project. Many times I post up the results and many polite people entertain me by saying things like, "sweet pimp job!", or "Nice Work!!". I realize that they are probably just being polite, but in the end, I am doing it for me and not them.

Now for the important part! It does not always go well. Sometimes I have a fantastic idea or vision of what I want, but my abilities fail to reach that vision...completely. A feeling of low follows that is far lower than any high I get from a mod gone well. I can see where a lot of guys would make an effort to rid their lives of these failures. I think I am going to hang onto mine to remind me of lessons learned!

The crazy thing is that sometimes I show these utter failures (in my mind) to someone and they think they are fantastic (and I realize that they are not just being polite when they ask "how much?"). Still other times, I show off what I feel is some of my better work and the guy starts to squirm like he just stepped on a dog turd and now he has to figure out how to get it off his shoe.

My point in all this? It is like a used car salesman once told me, "Somewhere out there there is an ass that will fit that seat perfectly". To say it a little cleaner, for every thing, there is some guy who loves it.

I mean no offense to the owner of this knife. It is unique and I am sure has it's benefits, but I have to post this here:

^idk, its kina a prerunner to the sage2. Maybe the inspiration! lol:barf:

No, that’s a knife done recently for a member here. Its not really a modification, he just had a custom blade made for his knife. If he wanted he could but the stock blade back in.

Here’s the thread be started.

yea, that's a getto wave. i tried it and it works, but when i wanted to open the blade with my thumb, my thumbnail would catch on the zip-tie, so i cut it off.

Might be ugly as hell, but I don't see how it can even be a contender for "worst modded knife".

Not only does the blade seem to be well made, but it likely offers a significant cutting advantage, as well making it easier to open.

I have to admit though, I haven't seen as many botched knife mods/abominations as I have seen terrible guns/motorcycles.

With that being said, here's a waste of a 10mm Delta Elite:

I wonder how that bottom spike on the feels when performing a reload.

Holy crap! Yeah no kidding, definitely want to watch yourself when slapping a new mag in there.
Last week, I dropped an open Buck 110 into the base of the palm on my left hand. That pic is making the wound throb!!:(

The Sage wave mod is not too bad. I'd spend some extra time on the blade but otherwise Ok.

Can I just ask why??

I don't see the point of turning a gentlemans folder into a piece of :barf:....(shiny footprints, remember!)

The Sage is a smooth opening knife, and a suitable mod to me would have been a nice leather sheath.

The worst re-profiling job I've ever seen someone boast about:

Not just the blade, but the thumbstuds too ;)
