WOT: bullpup hunting rifle

It seems to me there used to actually be a bullpup-type PISTOL in .223, I think it was meant for sillouette and varmint shooting.
X22 or something like that, anybody remember?

Pistol or rifle type bullpups all have the trigger/grip in front of the receiver in varying degrees, necessitating a transfer bar to operate the sear. The result is a long, creepy trigger pull, often with considerable overtravel... perhaps barely acceptable in a close quarters, room clearing spray and pray situation, but totally useless for careful shots at any distance. YEECH. Even in close quarters, I would take a good pistol or revolver, and a short shotgun (come to think of it...screw 'would'...I have, time and time again). Think of that long, scratchy trigger pull like you would a car or truck that hesitated or stumbled every time you put your foot on the gas.....maddening. Perhaps the only trigger of this type that could be made close to 'crisp' was that on the Remington XP-100.....and there the transfer bar was very short.

xp100! Thats it, thank you Narc.

Hunting from a dead rest (ambush style?).....anyway, you have to get to a steady rest quickly to counteract that creepy pull. A gentleman at the next bench over once let me try 3 rounds of .221 Fireball thru a scoped XP-100. I'm no cherry when it comes to using scopes, and his lil' Leupold was top of the line, but that pistol wanted to rotate around it's center of gravity so bad, the scope picture kept blacking out on me as I tried my best to take up the slack. Like old time religion, gimme a rifle with a stock up agin' my shoulder, and the receiver somewhere between my two hands, thank you.
