Would it be crazy spend more on a customization than I spent on the Knife?

not to derail your thread but is Tom doing regrinds again?

I did not know he had stopped and so I emailed him and he quoted $45 for a small folder like the packrat. Return ship and handling $10. The service however is not mentioned at all on his website.

Hello Pot, I'm the kettle...I'm pimping my SOG Vulcan ($90) with a Tuff G10 handle ($100).

that sounds really interesting, could you post a picture? The zytel on it was always the worst part of the knife

To OP: I put a $200 reblade on a $60 platform and it rocks. I'd say go for it

I will post when it gets done. I haven't sent it yet I emailed him and got a price quote. The handle isn't bad now just would be and awesome EDC with olive drab G10. BTW specs on that blade please.

Sounds good.

4" CPM 154 blade @ 3.5mm thickness, CQC8 bladeshape, hollow ground with a 14" wheel (so gentle it is almost flat ground)

Becker bk2 $65.00, Tomar micarta scales $45.00,Esee 5/6 pouch and belt clip $45.00, Azwelke Kydex sheath $50.00, items in survival pouch tin $?.Having the knife you desire priceless!I might be done but you never know, stripping finish, regrind, who knows.

Is it strange to spend $8000+ on a 1980-something Buick and turn it into a "Low-Rider" or take a Honda Civic (which is not known as an expensive car) and trick it out to where it performs like a champ?

Nobody can tell you if something is worth something except you. If it's worth it to you then it's worth it. At least that's the way I try to see things always.

if it's what you want than it's worth the money after all you can't take it with you

If it ain't takin food off your table or clothes off your back what makes you happy makes you happy. The Skyline is a great platform.
