Would you be OK with paying $300 for a folder that looks like this?

I would not send it in for repair, I would send it back for a refund!!!

Yeah I wouldn't be happy with that for $300, especially when a CRK isn't that much more. Hell, one of those Lansky Willumsen knives probably wouldn't have any worse fit and finish and one of those is like $21.

Brous must not care too much about their reputation because his has taken a huge hit over the past year or so.
You would think they would want to compete with the other dealers in that price range but that is pathetic.
I would take my refund and run anywhere else.

Looks like something you'd find on sale at truck stop, I would have requested a refund.

I honestly have no idea what you're referring to. Knife looks fine to me. I've paid more for striders with more dings... I guess I beat on my knives though, they aren't for collecting

It looks a little rough, but if you guys can find something better for $10 in a truck stop, please tell me what truck stop it is so I can purchase their entire inventory. Do some of you even bother thinking before you post? Geesh.

OP, I would be disappointed too. Don't let the haters convince you your knife is crap though. Contact Brous and see what they say.

Funny stuff right here.

Honestly, especially with those last couple of pics you added, that looks like a knife that has been handled a LOT and carried a good bit. That is what the various marks in your pics, and the pocket lint/hair on the blade in the handle look like to me. I would hazard a guess that that knife had been returned once before. What is the function like on it?
I tend to agree with others who say get your money back and look for another brand you'd be happier with.

I was thinking the same thing at one point. I had to clean black (G10?) debris out of couple of the screw heads. FWIW the action and function seemed to be perfect.

Here's what the dealer told me today:
"We received your return in today for the Brous knife. In comparing these to the other models in stock for that knife it looks like the knicks in the titanium liners is common on all of them. They are hand made by custom knives for the most part so they are all going to have these minor imperfections. I would just hate for you to get another knife you are unsatisfied with so just wanted to be clear about the condition of these knives. We can send you the best looking model we have in stock but can't really guarantee perfect fit and finish when we don't make the knives ourselves. Just let us know what you would prefer to do, we can replace it, exchange for a different model or give you a full refund for the knife."

Again, the dealer has been great in dealing with this. I asked to get a full refund. Anyone have a recommendation for a quality 3.75-4" flipper with great fit & finish?

Price range and blade shape/handle material preference?

Do yourself a favor and stick with the brands that have a proven track record.

I've had negative experiences with some of these smaller knife houses too.
Using excuses that they're hand made and imperfections are to be expected is BS.

If this is indeed the Brous Blades Reloader then something has changed in the QC from last year. I have a Reloader from June 2013 (371/500) and it does not have these issues!

It is indeed a Brous Blades Reloader. The date on the certificate was 4/1/2014, ironically.
