Would you buy a Chinese-made Buck?

I think this thread has outlived its usefulness. Maybe it should be locked.
Given the current economic situation across the globe, I believe this thread is very relevant.

Possibly Mr Hubbard would print out some of these and pass them around at the next meeting. Especially with new management, it is important for the people who make decisions for the company understand the values of its base customer, like they have for so long.

I bought a Buck 326 Scholar in 2006, not realizing Buck had started making some knives in China. Its a fine, well-made knife, however.

You mean mainland China, not free China, right? Without getting political, the mainland is not our friend. So, NO.

Correct Communist china. Taiwan is a solid ally economically and militarily and culturally.

How in the hell did you post this then? On a Chinese product.

Buck makes a large number of its better products here in the USA. All of the Buck products that I own were made here in America. I would never consider one of their ChiCom made products and I try to avoid ChiCom products of all kinds whenever possible. Admittedly, sometimes it is not possible but I actively try to avoid doing supporting communist china.

For what its worth, I avoid whenever possible products from totalitarian, anti capitalist regimes world wide.

So, buying any Chinese product shows a luck of Character, if I understand correctly.

It is good to have the privilege of guidance by people of superior morality, people of a higher class or caste.

Knowingly and willingly supporting the communist chinese regime or any totalitarian anti capitalist regime when there are other options can provide some insight into one's values

It is probably my fault. I wouldn't cancel your gold subscription.

What is "free" China because if it is part of China it is not free. If we are talking about say Thailand it is not part of China despite what China wishes the world to believe.

China likes to keep it's people working. And has set up it's economy so the masses have just enough money and 'stuff' they won't rebel. But they poison their air and kill girl babies. And do a lot of other bad things. Prior to 2020 I felt some folks just couldn't afford full retail American Bucks so I was glad there was a few models folks could afford. But after Covid-19 was unleashed on the world, either accidentally or on purpose, and my wife died probably as a result of the vaccine and booster I would never ever buy anything from China if I could help it. I look at labels when I see China I put it back on the shelf. I know the avarage person that lives and works in China is probably just like most Americans and is just trying to feed his family but I won't support that country any more.
My Dad fought it Korea and hated all things Chinese and back then I thought he was wrong to feel that way. Not anymore.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

So I assume you do not buy any products from Buck or Spyderco, as they are collaborating with the Chinese makers to produce knives. Obviously you look down on all people and companies that do not share all your values.

I don't buy SpyderCo products and "IF" you had read all my posts on the issue, you would know that while I do like Buck products, I have no interest in any of the Buck products made in communist china. Look down? That is YOU making an ASSumption. I am critical of people who do business with communist china when they can avoid it just as I am with people who do business with communist Russia, Iran and totalitarian regimes around the world who are adversarial to America and OUR interests. .
