So i was looking for the Ka-bar Heavy Bowie and Google pulled up its list under the shopping tab and one that caught my eye was "MANVENTUREOUTPOST.COM" good price, 300+ reviews (according to google) but i get to the site and it just doesnt feel right. Anybody here use them? maybe im just wary because their website sucks and the search doesnt work right. thoughts...???

I haven't had experience with that website, but if you have a bad feeling about it - do hesitate. And then hesitate some more. It pays to be paranoid.

It's just like this list of online retailers I compiled when searching for the Spyderco Military in S90V; some of them claimed a having 40+ in stock, some went defunct in a matter of weeks, others had no contact phone number whatsoever and didn't reply to email...

I ordered a Becker BK9 and BK11 from them back in June. Solid service and quick shipping. I sent them a few questions about other potential purchases a few weeks back, and I had a reply within 48 hours. The reviews are legit, and based on my experience, I would order from them again. Just keep an eye on the shipping costs which can get very high.

I was going to buy a kershaw from them (their Kershaw knives are extremely discounted!) but their site changed formats and would no longer ship to me. I think it was under construction -now it is harder to find knives.

Of course that was not a significant experience to help you base you purchase on. I have been waiting to try them out as well.

Even with shipping their kershaw knives are cheaper than my favorite site's regular prices.

Good bad and ugly, no?

I strongly urge you to use one of the excellent vendors that are constantly recommended by many BF members. There have been so many problems with internet knife sales lately.
I have purchased from knifeworks.com and I received excellent service (and you can see were I live!) but there are many other excellent vendors such as New Graham knives... Pay a few Dollars more and get the service, reliability and peace of mind.
Best of luck with your purchase.....
Steven

I hesitate to mention good dealers in the general discussion forum, but yourcornerstore.com really knows how to serve customers and at the same time offer low prices.

There's several dealers here on bladeforums, myself included. Here's a recommendation of the guys here that I have dealt with myself:

New Graham: everything knife related - excellent place
BladeHQ: everything knife related - excellent place
Storl (goinggear): everything you'll ever need to start a fire - great guy, great fire steels
kershawguy: everything ZT and kershaw related - great guy and fast shipping
Myself (J's Knives-N-More): I carry everything known to man, gear, packs, lights, knives, etc...

I hope this helps, J.
