Would you guys expect this?

Thank you Eric! I kind of like a play by play! I think guys on this forum would love it! I totally understand about being short at work. Everyone I know is in the same boat. I definitely want quality over quantity!

Hey David, yes in fact there are! Got your knife (and Deskil's) done on Friday, they're both just awaiting shields and numbers and they'll be ready to go. Had to completely re-make your knife since I couldn't for the life of me work the cut pins out of the bolsters, I must hammer them so well that they weld into place! Anyway, I wound up kinking one of the liners, so that was that. Repairs are NOT as easy as some folks think, especially in a situation like this (argh! ;) ). So you've got a new blade, which is where the problem was to begin with, new back lever, and new scales and covers. Deskil's got a new blade, back lever, and mark side cover. Got a few pics here as well, not so great due to the cheapo phone camera, but you should get the idea. The last pic is at the point where it was going in for a bath:

I'll let you know when it's headed your way

Holy cow! You had your work cut out for you.
It is looking good!
Thank you for the pics!

Eric, buddy. You have to be close to shipping by now, right? I'm still looking forward to getting this little guy back.

Well! It's been over 2 months and no knife :(!
I had high hopes for canal street Cutlery but I'm not a happy camper as of today!

I got her back today! Yippee! Everything seems good. Less gaps, no lock bar problem. Seems to pull maybe a 6. The edge is uneven and the point is nonexistent but it's back and it's going into my pocket.

I doubt anyone is still reading this thread but this knife is super smooth. I've been flicking it, thanks to the kwik thumb stud, all night. I like it! It feels nice and smooth, it looks great and works well! No problem cutting through some packages today. It took a long time to come back from the factory but I like the result. Pics to follow.

Actually I read the whole saga from the beginning today. Happy that you got the service from Canal Street even though it took so long. I was more impressed by Eric (ea42) with coming on here and letting you know what was happening - especially in a public forum like this. Kudos to Eric for making it right!

Still has gaps. However this should be expected in a lock back? As I said the action is very smooth and the lock is perfect. Thank you Eric for your craftsmanship and jootspa for giving us all a play by play of Canal Street Cutlery Ellenville, NY.

Nice knife.
Too bad the blade's got a hicky on it.:D

edit: woops, didn't realize this thread had multiple pages.

Good on Eric for making right, especially publicly.

That's a nice knife... shame about that thumb stud, though ;)
