Would you pay double msrp?

Or they'll re-release it, and the demand will disappear.
Very possible that could happen but it is not guaranteed. I guess what I am saying is that a couple of years down the road the pain of paying that much for a knife he strongly wants now will fade.
The question is how bad does he want that particular knife?

Sitting here playing with my brand-new Manix2 XL , just recently bought for $110 .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

List $250 , retails ~$175 . So I'm very happy to have finally found a great deal on this knife .

However : If I had paid $500 , I could never really enjoy this fine knife or feel any respect for myself ever again . 😞

T Tungstenfanatic have you owned, or at least spent some time with, a PM3. It would really suck to pay stupid money and find out you aren't a fan. That pain will only be worsened by having to take loss when selling it.
If you know you love the PM3, and really, Really, REALLY want that particular configuration, it's up to you whether paying that kind of markup is acceptable for you. (Don't do it)

The historical price doesn’t matter. What counts is the current market and the amount of effort you are willing to invest to find the right knife for the right price.

n2s

Nope.
Go buy 2 Para3s in whatever steel you can find for standard MSRP discount and use them on alternate days.
They’ll last longer than one in Cruwear.

I wouldn't no. However I'm kind of frugal. I don't want to look like a hypocrite by saying I'm frugal because I have a lot of what I consider nice knives. However, out of all the sweet knives I've bought in the passed year, I can only think of 3 that I bought brand new at dealer price. I wait a little while and watch from a distance like a bug-eyed Vulture until I find a deal on one and then swoop quickly like a rabid Perigrin Falcon. I've got some amazing deals.

If you really want it buy it….I’m guilty of feeding the scalpers a few times, for a certain Hinderer I wanted, and a couple ZT 0452 sprints that were going for nearly 2X original MSRP price.
Stupid yes, but I don’t regret it since I doubt those full titanium and G10/M390 versions will ever come back. (Or if they do they will have some stupid funky graphics lol)

Pretty sure you have your answer. Doubt anyone would pay double MSRP for any model really. I certainly would not.

Honestly I would buy a standard and a lightweight with whatever steel and just blade swap. That is if I wanted a g10 with different steel.

If you can afford it, buy it. You will be satisfied and can move on to the next knife after the glow settles.

Alternate, get the S45vn in current production. Its a fine well balanced steel.

Nope. Considering most knife MSRP's are already out of my price range to begin with ...

Tho depending on the knife (a popular GEC, for example) some people believe paying " only" double the issue price (AKA: "MSRP") on the big auction site, is a "bargain".

Patience Grasshopper, the knife you seek will appear on Bladeforum Knife Exchange at a reasonable price.
