Would you pay double msrp?

i never buy the special versions of well established models if the regular version is still available, just get the regular version for the much lower price and call it a day

My problem with knives is that there are no well stocked knife stores anywhere in my vicinity. So I have no way to look at and handle a knife I might be interested in. So I end up making a "blind" purchase. Often what I purchased does not meet my expectations or ideals. So I end up either giving the knife away. Or now reselling on Blade Forum's. I was very fortunate to receive advice from gold member craytab/Ed.

Like this camp knife I bought for my 9 year old grandson. Unfortunately razor sharp and definitely not kid friendly. For sale in Fixed blades.

I wouldn't, but then I'm not chasing Spyderco limited releases so it's going to be a judgement call for others. You just have to weigh how badly you want that knife and how having it completes you against the financial cost.
