I had never seen a SH-E until she showed up.....and I am in AWE!!
This beauty is the beginning of the SH-E line...right after the Straight Handles went to Ergo! OD handle slabs, Sterile and heavy wrinkle finish covers the knife....only the blade edge is exposed.
And speaking of the blade edge....can you say Asymmetrical?
what a killer grind.
Waiting for her to show up...I had done a lot of searching and found no info or pics of her or another. I called Amy and she did a little digging (I guess the Janitor helped a little:D...thanks!)
I think Amy wants me to send it to her to "verify" its authenticity:D.....

here is the story....."There was a run of Straight Handled SH configured just like this before the Straight Handles went away. In the transition, there was a run of Ergo handled SH made for covert spec-ops. Smooth OD (almost black) slabs. Heavy wrinkle finish yet the handle-tang were not polished to remain more stealthy. Sterile with no markings. Jerry made 50 (maby)of them."

Thank for looking.....(NEW PICS post 59)

Another convert ? :D

Great score, probably one of the best all-arounders !

Congrats !!!

It's an earlier one, IIRC they started knocking off those bumps on the spine side of the scales later on.

I smoothed mine, makes for a bit more palm comfort.

Nice SH-E ....I particularly like the ASM Grind  It looks to be in pristine condition ....

Congrats, I have one that looks just like it. Only mines used, and doesn't have the Asymmetrical edge. Awesome Knives,,,:thumbup:

OD Green Micarta (maby OD paper?)

Hey Andy, Great score! :) The handles are the stock green/black canvas micarta. I've had many in that configuration, in fact my first Busse was a Steel Heart E. Wish I had never traded it off, but the replacement is just as nice. :D

Thanks for the info my friend....I don't see any black in the handles when I look at it...but the macro pic I took shows some darkness.....
other specs
1/4" thick
13 1/2" OAL
7 3/4" blade

It is one of my favorites. Totally underrated IMO. It's up there with the best of all the Steel Hearts.

That is a pretty one! Really nice slabs and coated all around. I tend to like mine beat up a little. This one has the polished spine and more than a few lumps and bumps. Enjoy yours, you nabbed a nice one.
