I guess I have some thoughts on this, but to start, I will admit people are stupid, but not that stupid.....

All the time I see people on the forum telling newbies and others if they want to know the value of something, look at completed or sold listings on the bay. That's fine and a good place to start but when something don't look right, its wrong.....

One scenario, Guy has nice 120, lists it on eBay with no intentions of it selling(really selling, which implies getting paid, not just a green ended listing showing sold), but lets make a show of this, lets make it so believable that people will talk pages about it, all he had to do was use his wife's and cousins bay accounts to shill it right up to $800+,..... same guy brings his 120 to a knife and gun show 2-3 weeks later. Any one who even looks at it or shows any interest, the guy right away says, you might not believe it, but one of that same model sold for$800+ a couple weeks ago on EBay, and pulls it up on his phone to prove it, then tells the looker, his is for sale at less than half, asking only $300. A few people might laugh and walk away, but someone might take the bait and think he can make some money or that he got a great deal......a little extra work made the guy an extra $100-200 on a knife only worth$100 on a good day, probably not the case, but quite possible

Scenario 2, I'm bored and have extra time( which unfortunately is not the case) and I create the listing and fake selling of a normal knife to see what my forum buddies have to say:D:D:D

I believe whatever the case may be no one paid over $200 for this knife...maybe I'm wrong but i know not to believe everything I see and should believe almost nothing I hearo_Oo_O;):D

Seller will never collect on that one.

Some busy (and lazy) people just put a ridiculously high bid in early in the auction so they can forget about it and move on to other things but be guaranteed to get the item. They're willing to pay top dollar on that particular item but, of course, they're not thinking that it would ever go that high.

Apparently two such lazy people collided. Rarely happens, but it happens.

When it does they just don't pay.

Best I can say, referring to Joe Houser's article in the December 2004 BCCI Newsletter, is it's a Group 2, 1973-1980, stamp is right side up, guard has two micarta and two aluminum spacers. Pommel has two micarta and one aluminum spacer. There are several other points he makes about what box and sheath...yours is correct, BTW. HTH, Preston

1973 to 1980. Look for a printers date on the paperwork. If there is one it can't be older than that.
I have all paperwork as came from factory, even down to the tissue like paper that they used to wrap the knife in but no dates anywhere?Word from the President letter says Al Buck, bottom right hand corner.

Thanks! Is this knife what is referred to as a two liner?

No, 'it's a three liner'. BUCK, 103, USA a two liner would have just BUCK USA. Preston

The second place bidder had auto bids up to $251.75. After that the bids were placed individually.

somethings fishy there--look at his sold items he sold the same 120 on decemebr 23 for 265 dollars--no feedback--don't always get em --but--something aint right.....

You guys missed the obvious. He lives in Oregon, Everybody knows that knives from Oregon are much more collectable and desirable.

Can you all guess where I live? Anybody want to buy a knife?

Money says buyer thought it was a 12in blade based on description (12in knife) and the pic angles. If the buyer pays it will go to a bay resolution

Except it's stated twice in the description that the blade is 7 and a half inches.
