I saw this wrought right when Aldo got it, and let me tell you, this will make some gorgeous hardware. One of the counter intuitive things about wrought iron hardware is that you want the lower grade, least refined wrought iron for your hardware, because it's the slag, inclusions, and silicon in the steel that makes the great wrought patterns. The veinier and more old woodlike the rusty iron looks the better it is because the un-even wear / rust is a great indicator that it's not highly refined. This means old wagon wheels and anchor chains which used the lowest quality stuff make the best knife hardware.
I've got some wrought iron bar stock still in bar form from an old smithy... that I wouldnt use for a knife because it's too well refined! This stuff Aldo got is PERFECT for great blade hardware, and I cant see it lasting very long at his more than reasonable price !
