Wskt-ko blade grinding attachment

I've noticed the same difference between my WSKO and blade grinding attachment. You must set the angle lower than what you actually want on the grinding attachment. Sharpening using the 20* setting will give you around a 25* angle, and the 15* setting will give you around 20*. I'm thinking this may be tunable by tweaking the belt tension and the distance between the two pulleys at the top of the unit (both adjustments appear easy to make). I've only had mine for a couple weeks, and I haven't had the time to really mess around with it and make these adjustments.

So after having a good bit of time using the blade grinding attachment I've discovered the source of my original discrepancy. One being the spine thickness effected the original ko slightly, but I was tilting forward slightly when approaching the belt..with paying closer attention to my approach the angles are closer together from one to the other with only slight variation in angle oppose to 5+°.


This ones actually 15° per side now instead of 20° like before, by simply paying closer attention.

The results are quite impressive thou compared to the regular ko-wskt. It doesn't get a knife near as sharp as the grinding attachment does.
