WSS: Bushcraft Knife Challenge Gallery.

The handle material is orange g-10 and horse stall mat rubber. The horizontal band around the sheath in its current setup can hold items such as ferro rods, fat wood sticks and the like. In the band on my personal hunting knife I have a lmf firesteel, striker, piece of fatwood, and a crkt pelvic tool. The loops are setup for right hand vertical carry right now. But they can be reassembled for left hand carry. If you remove the current belt loop and use the band the sheath can be worn horizontal left or right hand. Hope that makes sense.

That does make sense. Thanks for the info. That's a versatile sheath, pretty slick, more compact than having a pouch on it. The knife is just awesome!

The advantage of a pouch is not having to tie stuff on. My hunting rig is for backup only, except for the knife. It's really a compromise between between quick access and retention. But what in knives isn't.

Totally right. One of the reasons I've been so sold on the horizontal straps (which came from some old mountain man sheaths) for mounting belt hangers and attaching sheath tabs is that the whole loop is available. I often carry a littlewidgy bar on mine. And sometimes pens and flashlights.

I'd never noticed loops developed for a kydex rig, I really like the way that's done. I'll bet it even works reasonably well with "belt clip" pouches, like an SAK sheath.
