I do believe 2014 will be Emersons best year. It's nice to see this company prosper. Many of us were here from the beginning.

I Support Emerson Knives.
This is my new club. Who's in?
Me too. I have bought Emerson knives since he broke away from Benchmade and started his own company God knows
how many years ago. Had one problem with a Raven and it was fixed to my satisfaction. I always know what I'm going
to get in an Emerson and I've yet to be disappointed. Haters go away.

I'm with ya Rolf! Also, this made me think. Estwing still makes hammers out of 1055 steel. They have been around the block a long time. All I use at work are Estwing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thanks, guys.
Maybe this shud be a Sticky??

What do you think, ER?

Its easy to ask-Why can't CRK make a knife like...; why can't BM make a knife like ...; why can't Strider make a knife like ...
You get the point. Individuality is great. It's what makes the knife world great. Buy what you like. Try what you want.

I've been and will continue to be a supporter of the brand (Emerson) for a long time too or I wouldn't have purchased over 50 knives over the years. Always excited to hear of new models. If there is a actual club, I'M IN 100%!

I already posted the wave I ground in my knife it's on here so go take a look. And as for owning your own company as I do you do have to answer to your customers weather you like it or not. If someone shows me a better way to do something I have been doing for years I listen and implement it. Ignore your customers only listen to the opinions that validate yours see where it takes you. O and the lock is flimsy you can cause it to fail with a light strike on the spine of the blade and many people complain about the wearing out so fast let's not pretend that has not been talked about a lot in forums. Look the real reason I posted it was I would have rather bought the type of knife ZT is making from emerson as it says the CQC 12 is Mr Emerson's edc knife so he knows it's better than the other models why not update.

All the lock failure talk I just don't get; I can make just about any lock fail. I'm not sure what the OP is doing to make it fail--what he is doing during the course of regular use, that is. Over 90% of the time a use a traditional slip joint with NO LOCK and I never had the blade close on my hands. If I am going to be twisting the blade, or whacking the spine on some hard surface (why, not sure???), I'll use a fixed blade. That said, I have not had an Emerson fail on me--in any way. It has always cut what needed cutting and the blade/ lock never disengaged. While I am sure of instances of legitimate lock wear and even failure, a careful user of tools will be aware of his/her equipment and know how to maintain it... and when it is time for repair... which, from what I've seen and heard, EKI will be happy to make good on. So, if you are unhappy OP, that's fine and that is your right... the market is wide and full of choices... find a folder that pleases you.

How can one possibly think spine whacking is a good test of a knife? In any normal knife appropriate use, all force is applied to the blade, not the spine. I've only had one Emerson have a lock issue and it lasted 7 years, not to mention it's repaired for free. I had a ZT that developed a crack in the blade and lock rock/slip in less than 2 years. Like we've said, IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM, DONT BUY THEM.

A better way? Who rolled out the golden carpet of enlightenment? Emersons work and that is just fine with me as well as most of the other posters in this thread.

Who says that they ignore their customers? People vote with their dollars and since his models fly out of the shop into users pockets, well I would take a guess and say that folks like them as they are. Plus, he even expanded his currently line by partnering up with Kershaw/ZT to branch out to an even wider customer base. I have seen plenty of threads in general about the new stuff and people said that they would buy the KAI/Emersons but not the real deal. Which isn't a bad thing as you're still buying an Emerson.

I checked out the 560 that you waved OP, wicked cool brother. I bet that thing flies out with the bearings.

ZTs have had lock failures too, so I don't really know what you are trying to imply. Spine-whack test? Really? Use something improperly and it will undoubtedly fail. Hell, I bet I can make a crowbar fail. It's not hard to fault something for a job it isn't designed for, but that just idiotic.

I know a carpenter who snapped a digging bar. True story.
mqqn- You've been in. ;)

We should make a sign up thread, group sign up for "I Support Emerson Knives". Or maybe a better name, just throwing it out there.

Or maybe "Sons Of Emerson, Harbor City Original" :D

I'm in! (and I don't even own an Emerson...I own a collaboration knife...BM 975...rock solid in every aspect and it rides in my truck in my overhead compartment. It has one job to do when the time comes and I have complete confidence that it will do it in spades!) I had the opportunity to meet the man himself at G6 and imo he is all that and a bag of chips. :D
