I need to adopt your manner of responding:thumbup:

Um, no I'm not too enthusiastic on this thread. Any enthusiasm I had has gone due to the misinterpretations, presumptions and hypocrisy exhibited by a few on this thread. That is as unfortunate as it is typical when emotion takes precedence over productive ....."discourse".

Emerson delivers a good product, which I own in many forms, I just don't worship it. If that is a prerequisite, then let me know. Their Rep's attitude here leaves a lot to be desired though. In fact as I stated it Sucks. My comments stand.

So what are you guys totin' today? I packed this:

I love the build your own defense. I dont have to plenty of people already do that was my point for 5 pages good lord. Are you all really upset because I called your lock flimsy. Fine I am very sorry I called your lock flimsy. Your lock is strong enough for general task and but is not as tank like as my ZT.

I see your pretty new to BF. This is a amazing place we have here. If you stick around you'll find that even if we disagree on something's we share a common bond, and build friendship like none other.

I've never seen a community of people help, give, and support each other like this one. Why don't we let this one go and start over new.

Whoa whoa whoa, hold up, you mean in a subforum dedicated to a particular knife company those that are fans of said knife company and frequent aforementioned subforum may be a tad over zealous and defensive?

Why I simply couldn't fathom that even if the hands of time stood still and all the sand in the hourglass was given me for contemplation.

The utter nerve of us, having our own personalities and ways of expressing ourselves.

I know, my attitude totally stinks. You should read through our sub forum. I have a terrible outlook and my reputation is third class. Honestly I don't think you understand where I'm coming from and if you could only see my face right now. It's hard to judge emotion through the internet. Yours, on the other hand, shines through perfectly. No one said you had to "worship" our knives. If someone likes our knives to the point where they won't carry anything else then that's their choice. We obviously love that and it makes us feel like we're doing something right.

Hey guys sorry to intrude, but i'm feeling lazy tonight and my question can kinda fit into the subject matter.

Just saw the "kershaw designed" emersons on a famous website, and they kinda tickled my fancy. Would you say that line is comparable to the byrd line for spyderco, as in it being an inexpensive gateway knife for more expensive future ventures? Also one of you (ER maybe?) said that the head honcho (i forget his name, sry) designed them. Does it mean they're emerson designs manufactured by kershaw? Thanks

Exactly right. Ernest designed the knives and Kershaw is manufacturing them. They are Kershaw knives wholeheartedly.

So would you say it would give me a taste of emerson or i might i just as well buy a kershaw?

The designs are what really make them. Try one out! They're priced so that it won't kill the bank account. Kershaw's build quality is really nice. Their fit and finish is amazing and they hit it out of the park with these knives. Although they are produced overseas, each knife is then inspected in their Oregon plant to insure quality. I think you'll be happy with them. These knives are Kershaw knives. Pick one that speaks to you. You can't beat Emerson's design and ergonomics.

Condescending can be added to the list along with impertinence, thin skinned and the list keeps growing for you huh buddy? You have a distinct talent at not only contradicting yourself, then ignoring facts but simultaneously making a complete fool out of yourself besides. Again, my points can be proven by using your own words as exhibits if you like. Unlike you my emotion is held in check, I simply respond to your words and those of others. While this is indeed the internet , words mean things and you clearly have trouble with that reality.

Again, where you are coming from- comes across crystal clear.

RRat- your friend insinuated himself into the response I directed toward you, but I will answer you , though I am sure Rep will feel overwhelmingly compelled to answer again. If you are exuberant, or enthusiastic about the Emerson Knives great. This thread suggests otherwise however along with a very disturbing trend in reading and comprehension failure.

Holy cow guys... I thought this thread would have died days ago--I'm off trying to get my central air fixed (still not) during this damn heat wave from hell and the mud is still flying. The OP wishes EKI to change/ "innovate"... Emerson Rep reports "not likely"... which is fine, Ernie's company and knives--he makes them his way, we can either buy them or pass. You like them, you buy them, you don't... well, the choice is clear, choose another folder from the hundreds out there. If there is an "I wish EKI would do this or that" type thread, maybe that would accomplish the goal of friendly suggestions to EKI from customers and potential customers... otherwise, I'm not sure what's going on here. For the record, Ubr Commander in my pocket as I type--it is my smoothest Emerson, it locks up good and tight, and is a nasty slicer. I'm happy with my purchase; if I thought it was lacking, my dollars would have gone elsewhere.

And maybe the Emerson Rep is onto something... I'm going to grab a beer and watch SOA, I missed it last night and I've got it streaming. Cheers boys.

Waveone, I have been a forum junky for many years on many sites/topics/obsessions (threw that one in for Mrs. Match) and I've never in my life blocked a forumite; you are as close as I've ever come, seriously man.
