Hi just some personal opinions here.
Winkler Knives
I bought the Winkler Knife II Belt knife which has the same handle configuration as the field knife. This design is absolute crap. I think the Winkler hype is very over rated. If you look at the handle you see that it is wide at the end and narrow near the blade. When you hold this knife it actually hurts your pink and ring finger because the shape doesn't naturally fits your hand. When you hold the knife in your hand with the blade pointing downwards it feels much better, but you never hold a knife like that unless you want to stab something. I'm actually selling my Belt knife since I find it unpractical. What I do like about the knife is the sheath and it's locking mechanism, which allows you to attach it to your belt vertically as well as horizontally.
Spartan Blades Harsey Hunter
This one looks nice, but when you compare this with the Difensa (just ordered this one) there is a small difference apart from the blade length. You can see that the both the Hunter and the Difensa have a cutout on the blade. The difference is that the cutout on the Hunter looks very small and wouldn't allow a comfortable finger grip inside this cutout. I don't even think it would fit your finger at all to be honest. The Difensa has a much larger and wider cutout which allows you to get a much more comfortable and secure grip.
Out of these three knives I would definitely go for the Difensa. Having said that it really depends what you are looking for and what you are planning to do with the knife. If you are looking for a bushcraft/fighter/kickass knife the Difensa would be your choise. However if you are purely looking for a bushcraft knife, my personal favorite would be the Randall Knife Model 28 (
http://www.randallknives.com/knives/model-28-woodsman/). This knife is absolutely fantastic. It is handforged instead of a grinded model from a piece of steel. It is a full tang blade, very well balanced and the border patrol handle fits perfectly in your hand, no matter how you hold the knife. I'm yet to find out how the Difensa feels when you have the knife in your hand with the edge facing towards you, since it has this little finger groove in it.
