Rumours are around that Cold Steel will be moving to CTS BD1 steel.
I'm not sure that it's necessary though.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not knowledgeable with steels, but isn't that a downgrade?

I'm pretty sure they'll still be made in Taiwan. They'll export the steel, get the knives made, import them back.
Can't wait for this one to come on sale without the serrations. And the price is good too.
So, i got my new Recon today, and while i love the DLC, i am somewhat bothered by the blade grind.
On the side with the "Recon" text, the blade is ground a good few mm. On the other side, there is almost no grind, especially at the tip. Is this normal for the 50/50 blades? I can say my straight Recon 1 is equal on both sides.
The blade feels sharp, but it looks really unequal, and i question future sharpening (assuming i use it, and not keep it nice and safe).
Pics if they help..

Remember that Cold Steel's serrated blades are practically chisel ground. The combo edge is probably biased to one side to avoid the the serrations being offset from the plain edge.
