Ok guys, simple question for the guys and gals that own both a hinderer xm18 and a Sebenza. If you could only have one which would it be. Just a simple vote ! I understand the difference in philosophy of use etc. just want to get a poll of people's opinion. This will help settle an on going debate between me and buddy!:D Let's keep the chatter to a minimal! Pictures always welcomed !

So which one guys xm18 or Sebenza ? :D

I dearly love my Hinderer XM-18 but same goes for my Sebenza. If I had to choose. I'd say Sebenza.

I sold my xm18's and kept the sebenzas. They suit my use much better.

Only you know what you need a knife for and can choose correct one. Both are very capable tools for their intended purpose.

Small XM-18( slicer non-flipper), Large Sebenza. One overall -Sebenza, great general use knife

I'd take the XM18 (small or large). I like the little Inkosi over the Seb.

I have a small Sebenza and a 3.5" XM-18... I wish the Seb was bigger and the XM was smaller....I don't know which I will buy next. :o

I say own both an Inkosi and a XM-18. I think the only one is a bit silly. There is no "one" best knife for anything any more then one firearm can be best for anything. I also think that most people that are willing to spend ~$400 will end up with more then one knife at that price. In the end its more on the needs of the user at the time the knife is being bought. They both have good points and tradeoffs made.

Small, would be a Small Micarta 21 hands down. For large, it's closer... I'd probably call that one a draw - gun to head, tonight it would be a Large Micarta 21. Other times it could very easily be a XM18 Bowie 3.5 inch.

I did not vote. Just wanted to point out the XM was not designed to be a knife for everybody. The Sebenza will likely get more love as it has different ideas than the XM behind the design.

I own both but if limited to only one, I'd go Sebenza. It sets the standard everyone else should follow IMHO.

I vote you are right it is a "beaten horse" topic. I'm a collector user and I like them both, XM for heavier duty tasks and Sebbie for slicing.

I feel fortunate to own numerous knives from both companies. I prefer my Hinderer's but it's just that, a preference. CRK and Hinderer knives are so well made. The lock bar geometry on both are outstanding! I can cut through heavier substances with no lock bar movement. Wish that I could say that about my other 50 frame locks from various companies.

Sebenza.

Just comes down to me finding it to be a much more versitile knife for EDC.

Have both. I think the Sebenza 25 is amazing and very close to the XM. If I had to chose one it would be the Sebenza 25 with carbon fiber scale, but a spearpoint XM18 in 20cv steel is also amazing... And I'm really glad I have both, lol

Ive had both for over two years now and id take the Sebenza if I had to choose. Might as well try them both eventually though.

As Techo said " Might as well try them both". The Sebenza is a slicer and the XM is a work horse. For heavy cutting I choose the XM. For EDC it's the Sebenza by a long shot.

So, basically we need to get both !

Had em both and sold em LOL. ;) Either is a great choice with my preference going to the Hinderer but neither really moved me enough to keep them. Maybe an XM24 with a slicer/bowie grind would be a keeper... :D:rolleyes:;)
