Seriously, regarding your tests, I had serious doubts about the validity of them, despite your claims of similar blade geometry. I recall a series of tests by Wayne Goddard (sp?), in which he took different types of steel, ground the edges to a specific angle, and then compared them (and if anyone has that reference handy, I would appreciate you posting it, as I have mislaid it).
However, upon thinking it over, I think that your tests will be valid. After all, they are real world comparisons of what the consumer will be able to obtain. In other words, these are the knives that actually exist, with the existing blade geometries, and therefore are representative of what can be expected with regards to performance.
I await the results with great interest.
