Y'all and your spoons! (CONTEST INSIDE)

I know the contest is over, I just figured I would stick these in here with all the others, maybe to give someone some ideas.

morning all
well, i know the contest is over. nevertheless i wanted to share these pix, if ya'll dont mind.
this is the spoon i originally thought id put in this thread. but i chose a nasty wood to work with. willow. think carving wet toilet paper. and to be honest i ended up using a rasp more than a knife in the end.
i didnt really start out to make this hunk o wood into a spoon. out at my brothers farm, sitting in front of the firepit one night. he'd cut down a willow tree off his property earlier in the year and was using it for firewood(a mighty fine place for this wood to go...) i grabbed a chunk and started whacking it with the esee6. next morning i decided to take it home and try to work a spoon outta it-my mistake. but i didnt give in, tho i put it aside frequently and worked on other projects including the osage orange spoon i submitted earlier.
it is rather rough with some flaws be sure. but that whitish non-descript wood turned rather nice after many coats of walnut oil. be certainly i will never make an attempt at carving willow again...

So I wonder when the winner will be announced. The last contest I entered everyone pretty much new who won on the first day. Not that contest was rigged its just that the one entry for the WS&S knife entry was that good.

My fault, I'm going to try to get this done tonight.

Pffft. Everyone knows that having a new baby in the house is nothin'. :D

I was just saying to someone today that I haven't had a day off in 9 months.
