Yangdu keeps on doing it. Real deals for 10/7. Pix and uncommon bargains.

Holy crap! I just checked the price on those things!!! Even at discount a small 10" chef's knife costs like $100. They will only end up in a dishwasher and abused with one of those can-opener knife abusers they call sharpeners anyway.

Trust me...with the divorce rate these days, get a set for $40 at Wally World!

Spend the rest on lots of Khukris for yourself...

Yep, most women don't know the difference unless they're married to a knife knut and half way pays attention to what the Old Man is talking about once in a while.:D ;)
Go ahead and get a set of Chicago Cutlery from Wally World and it will be good to go, that is until you get tired of using the cheap assed things. :p
They are easy to sharpen on the can-opener dohickeys, either that or the old timey pull through dohickey with the little hard wheels in it.:D
I know for dayumed certain that their proper name are "dohickeys" because my ex-bitch that never did anything she said she would told me so,:barf: and with that certain gleam in her eyes. Y'all know the one.:p They have been dohickeys ever since! :p :D

Found the website for Due Buoi or Two Oxen...
http://www.twoxen.it/

Check out the forged cutlery as the other is just stamped. I think the forged knives balance better. These are generally cheaper in price than the other high end knives like Henckels and such.:)

Thanks everyone for the great info. I just got back from the mall, got my sister 4 Kershaw kitchen knives; two 3" paring and two 4" serrated utilitys, along with 2 Henckels; a 6" utility and a 8" Chef's knife (Twin Signature Series). I'm not working right now so price was a big issue. Plus they are pretty nice knives. My brother that I live with has a set of Kershaw's and really likes them, mom has Henchels and also really likes them. But I will be checking out some of the others that you guys mentioned.

Yvsa, have you tried out the Henchels Profesional "S" series side by side your Due Buoi's? Checking out their web site, there forged Series looks just like the Henchels Profesional S knives.

Their price here in Tulsa is what sent me to the Due Buoi Heber.:)

You should have got her a 15" AK then send it ferrous to etch the henckels logo on the side. :D

It looks like the Sword, the Jange, the Kothomoda and the Bowie are gone.

That should mean there is the M43, the Sirupati and the SeAx left. I'm serious Bruise, you should get the seax.....you'll really like it.

Dunno... that fancy wood is um.. too fancy for me. Remember that I'm moving into a cardboard box soon.

Hey Gin - Looks like your "A" key is stuck in the cap mode up there...;)

The thing about the Seax is that if you slip, your hand is now seaxed.

The Bowie looks safer to me.

And if I'd had 85 bucks handy, I'd have grabbed it.

The niffty thing about the seax is that if you don't have giganto paws, then wrapping the last two or three fingers around the narrow bottom part of the handle before the swell really seems to lock your hand to it a lot tighter than you would first expect. however, i could see that if the handle became wet and slippery you really could have a disaster in the making. A seax goes from "oooo shiny smooth white metal!" to "Dear God it cut to the bone!" in a heartbeat. There is no transition like on a JKM-1 or something. I would say that if the handle is dry and you aren't sweating buckets through your palms then slipping will be of minimal danger. Just to be safe, don't use it in heavy down pours if you don't have to, and don't gore more than 3 people in one sitting and it should be OK:) Now running a chakma down the edge..that's a different story. The pointy tip on mine likes to bite fingertips when the chakma slips off the edge.

The wood on both the Saex and the M43 is beautiful...anyone want to buy two cats? Just had all their yearly shots today...

You guessed it...just over $200 worth of shots.

I wish the seax had a bit of a guard on it. Just something to keep the fingers off the blade. I understand that the khukuri is primarily a pull-cut knife, even when chopping. The seax, however has some serious thrust potential, and might (?) benefit from a small, simple guard, IMHO

Thanks Yvsa! Nice to know there are nice kitchen knives out there that cost less then the Henchels. :)

Nasty, what you need to do is find the free clinics or reduced price clinics that come around once a year and have your cats taken care of then. Every spring a bunch of Vets visit the town my mom lives in and does really cheep clinics. That $200 dolor visit is probably $75 on those days. :D

That is exactly right, Brian in Chi, and if we could communicate with the Kamis, if they would listen, that could get down. A small guard would change the weapon into the 'wonderful.'

I'd like to buy a bare blade to do my thing on, Mr. munk. Putting a handle on a blade isn' all that hard :D I've done it a zillion times. You just have to work neatly.

I thought the seax was more of a utility knife. Sort of like the tough guy's X-acto knife.

These Seax almost *are* bare blades...if you could make a nice slip-over guard and then braze it in place....Hmmm....

Heber...great idea, but what if my paying full prices helps support those clinics? I'd want to keep helping more than saving a few bucks.

Heck, that's the only reason I buy Khuks after all...to support the Kamis (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

Sorry kids, the Napoleon sword and the M43 are spoken for and already in transit ;) You guys left 'em on the table too long!
