Yangdu's start the year right sale. Pix and usual steals.

At 2 lbs that Tin is going to cut, and is on the farthest limit of the weight I can carry comfortably all day hiking.

I don't know what if anything an extra fuller adds..would be an opportunity for a lighter khuk..maybe without the fullers this Tin would be well over 2 lbs.

The comfort of carrying something on one's hip depends on weight and size. A Browning 9mm weighs 32 oz empty, and more when loaded, but is a piece of cake to carry. I would say the same thing for a 39oz GP100 (empty).

A 32 oz, 28 inch sword... now that is another story.

Depends on where you carry it too. 2 pounds in a backpack is easy compared to 2 pounds on your ankle.

I wonder if one can get a tin chirra ankle holster?

Can a lacquer be put over freshly polished brass to keep it from oxidizing and turning dull? What kind? I'd like to see this on my brass furnished khukuris.

AA you can use any clear lacquer or polyurethane over the brass to prevent tarnish.
Problem is if it ever gets a scratch or a place on the edge that wasn't covered well moisture will enter and then you're screwed.
Then you have to remove the finish and the tarnish, it's just easier to polish them once in a while IMO. I have some brass furnitured khuks that have turned a dark gold color but haven't tarnished as yet. I just pretty much ignore them.;)

A cool sword, a Tin Chirra, and a Hanuman. I've been thinking about those three (as have some of my coworkers) all day.

I tried to talk my errant room mate into getting the Tin. His words: "If it isn't a 25" Kobra, I don't care how good of a deal it is. Let me know if they have a Kobra."

I wonder what's left? I hope it's all gone. :)
