Looking for something new to add to your collection?? I have just the thing! When Father returned to Nepal I sent some tools for a craftsman to do some scrimshaw. Now I have received two items pictured below that have the handles of Montana elk horn scrimshawed. These are not western style but done by hand and then ink rubbed. I think they are not only unusual but also very pretty.

Wow, some interesting pieces have shown up again. Another one of those 15" Pen knives, too.

Edit: Makes me wish I had the budget to go for the 15" PK.:o

well my goodness. every single one of those looks beautiful but I think that sword just might be singing too.

The khuk on the Conch shell about knocked me off my feet.

And I wasn't even laying on the couch.

Well, I got the pen knife, which I've been drooling over for about a month. This will be my first HI, and I'm sure not the last.

Every one of these makes me want to spend the $$. Beautiful GRS!!! I hope to see more of the walnut. Happy New Year Yangdu!!!!

To quote the ubiquitous cry of despair uttered by all evil henchman in the cartoon series Jonny Quest, "AIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!".   :)

Dadgum, have to sit on the sidelines and watch these go, just plunked down mucho dinero on supplies for some upcoming projects.

Oops! It seems you accidentally got the wrong knife, since the one offered today is an upsized pen knife. How about you just send it over to me and spare yourself the grief? ;)

More seriously, I encourage you to pick up another khuk quickly so you can give us a comparison between the 15" PK and something that's been seen before. It's kind of hard to measure something without a standard to compare it to. (eg, you can't measure how long a knife is unless you compare it to an inch or a centimeter)

Also, welcome aboard.

Oh my! What a beautiful bunch! Good for my bank account that I was in meetings all morning.

You know what you guys are missing though, is the first one, the Chitlangi. That is only the third one in that size ever made, and the first by Sher. I have the first wood one in satisal and someone else has the horn (both by Kumar.) This is the first one in neem. For that matter I'm not sure they have ever been any Chits in neem.

I just spent too much over Christmas or would be all over this one.

P.S. Is that #3 BGRS really a villager? It's a nice one in any case, and one of the very few with a standard bolster as well.

Kazeryu, yeah, I noticed it was a 15". There was a wood handled 15" one in one of the other sales a little while back that I missed out on.

After this I've got my eyes on a couple of the smaller offerings (there are more names than I can keep straight, but I figure I'll see something that looks nice in a picture and just buy it. . .I'm sure a "regular" pen knife is in the future) and then probably something in the 18" range.

thanks for the welcome

Your first HI and it's only the second 15" PK made! Congratulation on a great choice. By the way, you should gamble a lot today as your luck is excellent right now. :D

Welcome to the Cantina, and stick around. We should have lot's more goodies on the way.

Hello Andy,

18 inch Foxy Folly arrived here today.

God I've got Chit fever really bad, but I've gotta hold out for the FF that's in the ether somewhere. It's really hard though. I wish there was a JKM or something on there to ease the fit.
